So what is really pissing us all off about all of this?

This THING that has taken over the world, literally.  It has seeped into every aspect of our lives, and it is certainly affecting all of us in one way or the other.

I have had many things that I want to write on here lately, but for one reason or the other, I don’t.  More so, I have been using facebook as my platform for expressing my thoughts on life, through both video and in writing.

Here is my post from facebook yesterday where some meanderings came rushing out of me concerning what is REALLY bothering us all about this virus, and maybe how we can combat that anxiety and nervousness that so many of us have been feeling lately.

So how do you figure out your future with no information? That is what we are talking about here. That is what is REALLY bothering the general public right now.

We are frustrated and annoyed that we literally have no idea what the future holds. We have been rocked to our core with a realization that the impossible can actually happen. That all we took for granted can be swiped away from us in an instant.

We are pissed because we so badly want to PLAN our future, but we can’t. We don’t know what is behind the next corner, never mind the one down the road. How many corners will we turn to get to that point? Nobody knows.

This, I believe is what is the hardest to deal with. We can’t make plans because we have no information with which to make plans. Sure we can try and make plans, but we also have to be very open to the fact that they may not happen.

This virus has rocked humanity to its core. And I don’t care if you believe in it or not, if you believe it is a ‘hoax’ or if you believe that 5G is spreading it. This virus has changed the world so much that we can never turn back.

People have said things to each other that they can never take back, perspectives have shifted that will never return to their innocent, yet naive, meanderings. People have seen a different side of life. Our relationships have changed, our routines have changed, our jobs have changed, our scenery has changed. Everything has changed and In one way or the other, it has affected each and every one of our day to day lives, and there is not one thing that has happened in our population that has done this before on a global scale. At least not in our modern history.

Even back during the Spanish Flu, people could only hear about what was going on via newspapers. I mean, maybe that’s why it did so much damage…..the virus was spreading faster than the news was. But today, no no no. Our technology tells us what is coming LONG before it ever gets to us. Of course, some of the population has felt the virus’ wrath, and I certainly don’t want to discount the families that are grieving losses, nor the countless hours that front line workers have put in, including the janitors and shelf stockers at the grocery store, or the gas station attendants that keep pumping our cars. These parts of the population have felt this virus’ full fury since the beginning. The rest of us are mostly sitting and waiting.

Wondering what the story really is? Wondering if we will ever know somebody who has it? Wondering if this really is something to worry about? Wondering what the effects of it will be? Wondering how long this can go on for?

The answer , unfortunately, is, we don’t know.

I don’t know how my meanderings are meant to help you, or if they even are at all. I know that I am doing my best to make conscious choices about what I want to direct my energy at. I feel that the only way to keep marching on, is to do just that.

March on, with one step in front of the other. Each day is a new day full of possibilities. Trying to get out too far in advance of each day, is causing us grief and upset. It’s time that we turn our focus to the now. THIS V-E-R-Y MOMENT.

Stop looking at the news. Stop scrolling Facebook. Just stop. Look around you. Listen to the noises. Go outside. Breathe fresh air. Take it ALL in. Close your eyes and just sit.

Try and realize that THIS is what we control. THESE MOMENTS are what will keep us grounded. THIS is where we are our best selves. Each day will present new problems, but we will take those on each day. We don’t need to prepare for problems and we don’t need to try and plan around them.

A mantra I have used when I get flustered and overwhelmed is “You are safe right now.”

I tell this to myself over and over if I have to, until my mind is pulled out of its dark recesses that it tends to slide into once in a while. When you realize that you are safe, you can let your guard down. When you let your guard down, life becomes easier.

I hope that my experience with all of this, and my words, might help or inspire you in some way. I don’t share my story for glorification or a need for approval, instead I feel that it is important for us to all realize that we are going through all of this together. This virus has affected us all.

We need to come together as a community to work together to make the world a better place. Choose a path that makes you happy, because your happiness will ripple out in so many directions, it will be impossible to quantify.

Through my travels I have learned many things, but chief amongst them continues to be that all people, ALL people in the world, just want to be happy. It is where we are our best selves, and it is where we produce the best work.

So take this all as you may. I am in no position to tell anyone what to do, nor do I want to fix anybody. Believe me, I have had my time with trying to do that, and it sucks. Instead, I ask you to find a life that makes you happy. Keep reaching for happiness, keep searching it down, because it is out there, it is out there for all of us.

Much love to you all! Please stay safe and stay healthy!

There has never been any other time in our history where NOW has been more important.

What do you need to do to become your best self?

What do you need to change to find happiness?

Happiness is not a destination that you should hope to get to in the future.  It is something that you can find right now.  Right in this very moment!

Seek happiness, find joy.  In this moment and all the rest.
